#VISIBLELOCALTRUSTED CAMPAIGN |

As part of our #VisibleLocalTrusted campaign we are showcasing the action we are taking to make communities feel safer.
Officers from Cannock Local Policing Team used problem solving policing and partnership working to reduce vehicle related anti-social behaviour.
A local retail park experienced a sustained increase in car cruising and organised vehicle meet ups which involved racing, stunts and littering.
We listened to the concerns of retail staff, residents and road users and did the following:
๐น Issued 28 Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) warning letters to drivers captured on CCTV to deter offenders. A PSPO is a legal order that gives local authorities the right to ban or restrict activities that negatively affect the quality of life in a public place.
๐น Sent 14 advisory letters to other car users who had attended the location, but where police had been unable to evidence any offences or involvement.
๐น PCSOs removed all stickers advertising the meets.
๐น Carried out regular patrols during the peak times when car cruising takes place.
๐น The local PCSO, the district council partnership officer, and the property management company worked together through meetings and site visits. Through this it was agreed to install CCTV and ANPR, to capture evidence going forward, and that the entrance and exit barriers at the site would be assessed. They also agreed to install Section 59 and general usage signage throughout the site. This resulted in:
โ A significant decrease in reports. โ Less noise nuisance which has a positive effect on the local community. โ The risk of danger to others has been significantly reduced.
